You start at Spooner Summit Parking Lot and hike 4 miles on the Marlette Lake Trail, gaining 768 feet and descending 262 feet to North Canyon Campground. From there, you take a 2-mile day hike to Marlette Lake, gaining 1,522 feet and descending 873 feet. Afterward, you return to North Canyon Campground, then head back to Spooner Lake Visitor Center via a 3-mile stretch of Marlette Lake Trail, gaining 193 feet and losing 850 feet. Finally, you finish the trip with a 1.75-mile walk on the Spooner Lake Trail, gaining 462 feet and descending 1,051 feet, returning to the Spooner Summit Parking Lot.
